2020 has offered endless lessons about public health and public safety, and illuminated opportunities for Minnesota to advance better health and safety for all. This training is for anyone who is interested in learning more about our criminal punishment infrastructure (police, courts, prison/probation) through the lens of public health. We will explore the limits of our current system in crime prevention and intervention, what more effective, humane, and less costly alternatives exist, and ways to support policies and systems to advance safety for all.

Lindsay Turner will facilitate this training. She will share key knowledge gained during her time in public defense, civilian police oversight, and community-centered research, and also guide safe, values-driven, group discussion. Lindsay is a member of the board of the MNSCC, and active on the Legislative Affairs and Training Committees.

Per trainer request, this training is free for all community members; however a $20 donation to MNSCC is appreciated from those who are able to contribute.

**Please note, this is a virtual training and will take place via ZOOM. A link will be sent to all registrants at least 24 hours prior to the event**
